Karen Ball
, formerly in charge of fiction over at Zondervan, has been named senior editor of fiction at B&H (formerly called Broadman and Holman) though B&H’s online press room does not yet list the press release.

Ball spent nearly 12 years with Tyndale as senior editor of books and then took the senior editor of fiction position for Multnomah (now being blended into Waterbook.)  She had been with Zondervan since 2003 until going freelance last March.

‘Revolving’ Personnel News

Former W Publishing editor Kate Etue has struck out on her own (with friends) and started a publishing and music services company with Recah and Marc ‘Thux’ Theodosiou.  On the book side of their company, Snap Repubic will offer services including proofreading, editing, cover copy, manuscript abridgment, author endorsements and more.

Kate worked as an editor under my wife when Hayley was YA brand manager at Thomas Nelson and it was that twosome that huddled to create the Revolve Biblezine concept before Hayley left TNP to start Hungry Planet.  Kate took over the YA brand (renamed Transit) and wrote and edited much of the ‘extra’ content in the Biblezines.  She marched the product and many of its spinoffs to the marketplace with then publicist Laurie (Whaley) Roe.  Somewhere around the time Transit was scuttled as a brand and YA was folded into children’s imprint Tommy Nelson, Etue moved on to W.  The commercial success of the Biblezine also propelled Roe to a VP position at TNP before she left publishing earlier this year.  As a weird coincidence, I recently found Roe’s blog chronicling her journey from Bibles to opening a petite women’s boutique here

Best wishes to Kate as she sets out on her new venture.
